Business Manager
Associate Consultant
Business Manager : JDM Associates is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Business Manager. The position will be responsible for:
- Invoicing and accounts payable/receivable
- Financial projections, budgets, and reports
- Analysis of consultants’ utilization, billable hours, etc.
- Office management, including ordering supplies
- Assistance with marketing and proposals
Desired qualifications:
- MBA (or current MBA candidate), or Bachelors plus 1-3 years of work experience
- Proven skill with financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and budgeting, preferably for a consulting firm
- Ability to balance multiple tasks with meticulous attention to detail
- Solid computer skills, including experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel as well as financial and accounting programs
- Strong interpersonal skills appropriate for work with corporate clients
- Willingness to step in and help with administrative tasks as needed
- Commitment to JDM’s mission of improving sustainability in the real estate industry; knowledge of sustainability, green building, energy management, and real estate preferred but not required
Associate Consultant: JDM is seeking a motivated, knowledgeable professional to provide green building and energy management consulting services to clients in the public and private sectors. As part of the dynamic JDM Associates team, the position will develop and implement sustainability strategies for large national real estate firms, provide technical guidance and assessments for commercial building owners and operators, and assist government-sponsored voluntary environmental programs. Work will include green building strategy development and technical guidance for both existing building portfolios and new construction projects.
Desired qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a related field (environmental management, engineering, architecture, business) or Bachelors degree in a related field plus 3 years of experience.
- LEED Accredited Professional or the desire to become a LEED AP.
- Direct experience working with green building strategies and technologies for both new developments and existing buildings. Hands-on technical experience with building technologies and operations preferred (e.g., lighting retrofits, energy modeling, HVAC).
- Demonstrated knowledge of broader sustainability topics including energy efficiency, water conservation, waste minimization, renewable energy, and integrated greenhouse gas management.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, including impeccable written grammar. Ability to present clear, persuasive messages to diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills appropriate for work with corporate clients and industry experts.
- Proven analytical skills, including strong numerical reasoning and ability to take practical approaches to problem-solving.
- Solid computer skills, including experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and commitment to improving the environment.
