JDM's John Klein presented two sessions at the 2010 National Apartment Association (NAA) Education Conference, held in New Orleans. These presentations conveyed lessons learned and shared examples from JDM’s work with TIAA-CREF, UDR, and other clients to enhance the sustainability and efficiency of multifamily real estate. Along with clients Nicholas Stolatis of TIAA-CREF and Doug Walker of UDR, John co-presented a session titled "Sustainability in Action: Real Estate Veterans Share Lessons Learned." He also presented "No More Dollars Down the Drain: Simple Strategies to Significantly Reduce Water Use in Multifamily Communities," which was summarized on the multifamily industry blog GreenLandlady.com.

JDM also collaborated with clients Alyssa Quarforth (U.S. EPA) and Scott Anderson (TIAA-CREF) to develop a presentation that shared our experiences benchmarking the energy performance of the TIAA-CREF multifamily portfolio and assisting other industry practitioners to use the EPA’s benchmarking tool, Portfolio Manager. Alyssa and Scott co-presented this information at the 2010 NAA session "You Can't Manage What You Don't Measure: Benchmarking Your Portfolio to Drive Down Operating Costs and Green Your Portfolio," also summarized on GreenLandlady.com.
