TIAA-CREF named 2012 ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence Award winner, third consecutive year

"As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the ENERGY STAR program, EPA is proud to recognize TIAA-CREF with the 2012 ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence Award," said EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson during the ENERGY STAR Awards ceremony on March 15 in Washington, DC.

TIAA-CREF received the 2012 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award for Sustained Excellence, marking the fifth consecutive year of recognition from the EPA. Supported by JDM's energy managment and sustainability expertise, TIAA-CREF has now earned the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year award in both 2008 and 2009, and the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award for Sustained Excellence in 2010, 2011, and now again in 2012. Additionally, TIAA-CREF has been named an EPA ENERGY STAR Leaders Top Performer for its seventy-two TIAA-CREF office buildings that have earned ENERGY STAR labels.

JDM has supported TIAA-CREF in benchmarking over 40 million square feet of its office real estate investment holdings, more than 11,500 units in multifamily investment holdings, and retail and industrial properties. Over the past four and a half years, JDM's technical and strategic guidance has helped TIAA-CREF in reducing energy intensity by more than 15% for the portfolio of investment holdings.
