JDM assisted the USGBC in the development of a portfolio-wide LEED certification program to extend USGBC’s offerings to owners and managers of large real estate portfolios. We helped develop the methodology for registering and certifying multiple properties and guidance for adopting sustainable business practices as standard operating procedures. A critical component of this effort was to develop green lease language and resources to facilitate portfolio implementation of sustainable practices.

Additionally, JDM performed market research for the USGBC focusing on existing reports, articles, case studies, and presentations related to green building and commercial real estate with the goal of a developing a publicly available online resource database. We also developed a LEED gap analysis that identified technical barriers and provided initial recommendations for the implementation of a multifamily rating system for existing communities.
